A vibrant community of veterinary educators and researchers

We are an organisation open to anyone who is engaged in veterinary research, teaching and allied fields. We aim to further the interests of our members through:

Celebrating excellence

To celebrate 75 years of the AVTRW we launched the Acorn Award (previously the Diamond Jubilee award) to help support undergraduate research projects relating to veterinary medicine and teaching.

Probiotic effect on Cryptosporidia in dairy calves

The aim was to establish if the pro-active supplementation of a probiotic reduced both the incidence and severity of Cryptosporidia, which is the leading cause of diarrhoea and neonatal mortality in calves.
