AVTRW committee announcement
UPDATE 26/06/2020: Due to the ongoing risk from Covid-19 and our wish to keep all presenters and attendees safe, the AVTRW conference this year will be a virtual conference held on the 14th and 15th of September.
ANNOUNCEMENT 25/03/2020
Dear AVTRW members,
We hope you are all keeping safe and well in these challenging and unpredictable times.
The AVTRW committee would like to let you know that we are working with other veterinary divisions to offer help and guidance to our members and to the wider profession.
We have recently been in consultation with the BVA and other specialist divisions to advocate for vets to be included on the key workers list. You can see more information on https://www.bva.co.uk/news-and-blog/news-article/from-our-president-latest-updates-on-covid-19-for-vets. There will be further updates but in the meantime you can see the joint BVA/RCVS statement on key worker status.
Within our members, there are there many of you with key skills required (e.g. diagnostics, epidemiology, mathematical modelling) that could join forces to help combat this worldwide emergency. We would therefore encourage you to look out for initiatives (see https://crowdfightcovid19.org/) where you can offer your support, or get in touch with us and we can help facilitate these interactions (secretary@avtrw.co.uk or president@avtrw.co.uk).
We would also take the opportunity to let you all know that we still plan to hold our annual meeting in Glasgow on 14-15th September 2020 (glasgow2020@avtrw.co.uk), although this is subject to review as the impact of the outbreak becomes clearer. We are still working on the program and will keep you updated. Please visit our website for more information (http://avtrw.co.uk/).

Stay safe, and hopefully see you all at the conference when it happens!
